SAT and PSAT
What is the SAT
The SAT is a standardized test that measures a student's skills in three core areas: Critical Reading, Math, and Writing. Students in grades 11 and 12 take the SAT so that they can submit their scores to colleges as part of the college application process.
SAT Resources
You can get started with the SAT Prep: Practice and Study Guide course. Test prep resources devoted to each subject area are also available:
Both Princeton Review and Kaplan have been around and had lots of student success.
If you are in Breakthrough, you should ask about SAT prep - they had people come in and do this with their seniors. If you are in Breakthrough, there isn't a cost when they bring the SAT tutors and do a workshop.

What is the PSAT/NMSQT
The PSAT helps you prepare for the SAT by testing your math, reading, and writing skills. Beyond practice, high-scoring students can earn national recognition, including a National Merit Scholarship. There are a few key differences between the SAT and PSAT, including difficulty and cost.
PSAT Resources
For students who recently received their PSAT results, free online personalized tutoring is available by linking your PSAT results to the Khan Academy. The system will then create personalized tutoring for the student based upon PSAT results for preparation for SAT. For complete “how-to” information on this process.
